The following statement summarizes the biblical convictions that shape my life, teaching, writing, and ministry. While no brief statement can express the full richness of Christian truth, these convictions reflect my commitment to the authority of Scripture, the centrality of Jesus Christ, and the historic Christian faith.
The Holy Scriptures
I believe that the Bible, consisting of the Old and New Testaments, is the inspired, trustworthy, and authoritative Word of God. Through the Scriptures, God reveals His character, His redemptive plan, and His will for humanity. The Bible is the final authority for faith, life, and Christian practice.
God
I believe there is one eternal God who exists perfectly and eternally as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is the Creator and Sustainer of all things and is infinite in holiness, wisdom, love, justice, mercy, and truth. He alone is worthy of our worship, trust, and obedience.
Jesus Christ
I believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, fully God and fully man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, revealed the Father, performed mighty works, died on the cross as the perfect sacrifice for our sins, rose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, and will return in glory to fulfill God's purposes.
The Holy Spirit
I believe that the Holy Spirit glorifies Jesus Christ, convicts the world of sin, brings new life to those who believe, indwells every follower of Christ, and empowers believers to grow in holiness, bear spiritual fruit, understand God's Word, and faithfully serve Him.
Humanity
I believe that every person is created in the image of God and therefore possesses inherent dignity and value. Because of sin, humanity is separated from God and unable to restore that relationship through human effort. Every person stands in need of God's grace and redemption.
Salvation
I believe that salvation is God's gracious gift, made possible through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is received by faith through God's grace and results in forgiveness of sins, reconciliation with God, new life in Christ, and the assurance of eternal life. Salvation transforms both the heart and the life of every believer.
The Church
I believe that the Church is the body of Christ, composed of all who have trusted in Him as Lord and Savior. The Church exists to worship God, proclaim the Gospel, make disciples, encourage believers, demonstrate Christ's love, and serve the world with humility and compassion.
Christian Living
I believe that every follower of Jesus Christ is called to live a life of holiness, integrity, compassion, humility, and faithful obedience. Through the transforming work of the Holy Spirit and the guidance of God's Word, believers are continually being conformed to the character of Christ and equipped for lives of faithful service.
Mission
I believe that Christ has entrusted His followers with the mission of making disciples of all nations by proclaiming the Gospel, nurturing believers in their faith, serving others with love, and bearing faithful witness to God's Kingdom through both word and deed.
Our Hope
I believe that Jesus Christ will personally return as He has promised. He will establish His perfect kingdom, bring justice and righteousness to completion, raise the dead, and make all things new. Until that day, believers are called to live with hope, faithfulness, and joyful expectation.
May everything I write, teach, and do reflect the truth of God's Word, the grace of Jesus Christ, and the transforming work of the Holy Spirit, bringing glory to God and encouragement to His people.
Marriage, Family, and Human Sexuality
I believe that God created humanity in His image as male and female, equal in dignity and value. I believe that marriage is God's design: a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, established for mutual love, faithfulness, the nurturing of family life, and His glory. I believe that sexual intimacy is God's good gift to be expressed within the covenant of marriage. While extending Christ's love, compassion, and respect to every person, I seek to uphold the biblical vision of marriage, family, and human sexuality with both truth and grace.
Christian Ethics
I believe that every human life is sacred because each person is created in the image of God. Followers of Jesus Christ are called to pursue holiness, integrity, justice, compassion, humility, and faithful stewardship in every area of life. Christian witness should reflect both unwavering commitment to biblical truth and genuine love toward all people, demonstrating the character of Christ in our relationships, service, and public life.
